On Sunday, May 28, Seniors and their guests attended the Senior Dance, at Fairfield Farm.

The school rolled out a red carpet for attendees and Mr. Rick Hazelton, director of the Center for Global Understanding & Independent Thinking, introduced couples as they entered the dinner.

This year, the dance’s theme was tropical, inspired by Troppy Tuesday, the tradition of wearing tropical shirts on Tuesdays. The practice was started by Senior class president Eli Rippetoe ’23, who is affectionately known as Director of the Tropical Tuesday Operation (DOTTO). Mrs. Lisa Brown, chief of staff to the head of school, and her team decorated the farm with tiki torches and set up lawn games.

Seniors enjoyed pineapple mocktails and mint and lime spritzers prepared by members of the Dining Services team. Pigs in a blanket, caprese skewers, and shrimp were served as party-goers mingled and took photos. Attendees then dined on pesto tortellini, chicken piccata, beef tenderloin, scalloped potatoes, and salad garnished with pears. The dessert menu featured blueberry, apple, and peach pies and cheesecake.

The band Starlight Music, from New York City, provided live music. As the sun set, Seniors and their guests danced and gathered around bonfires to watch the stars.
