Editorial: Announcing the Digital Record

In 1893, The Record was established under Editor-in-Chief Edmund Merril, Jr. ’94 and printed only six times a year. One hundred-twenty-five years later, we are happy to announce the launch of our digital platform.

In recent years, larger newspaper companies such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal have increased their online presence in an effort to stay relevant with the rise of a society largely influenced by instant gratification and new technology. These efforts have changed media as we know it and have allowed more people across the globe to learn about current events and breaking news in a fast, widespread manner.

It’s for these reasons that the previous editorial board under Editor-in-Chiefs Jordan Feast ’18, Nick Fleisher ’18, and Kat Namon ’18 started conversations with the Communications Office to take The Record digital in an effort to give students, faculty, parents, and alumni access to information on pressing issues and events, both inside the Hotchkiss community and around the globe. As the digital Record begins to expand its presence, we hope that this will allow the larger school community to engage with and listen to one another. We would like to formally welcome our Digital Editorial Board:
