Isaiah Blake ’27 is an Upper Mid from Austin, Texas. Blake has played soccer since he was two years old and will play striker for Boys Varsity Soccer. Blake said, “I chose Hotchkiss not only for its academics and athletics but also for the opportunity to meet new people and make memories.”
Blake’s ultimate goal is to play professional soccer. This year, he is aiming to score at least 20 goals for the school and break into the Connecticut United professional team. Currently, he plays for the CT United club team outside of school .
During the winter and spring seasons, Blake plans to play basketball and join Dynamic Training.
Leonard Borchart ’26 is a football recruit from Gottberg, Germany. He will play offensive tackle for Varsity Football. Borchart said, “I started playing football when my old coach brought me to a practice. Ever since, I have loved the sport. I chose Hotchkiss because of all the opportunities and, most importantly, Coach Dempsey Quinn. My ultimate goal is to play D1 football next year, and I think Hotchkiss will help me do that.”
In the offseason, Borchart will focus on staying in the gym. He is considering joining wrestling in the winter.
Juliet Webb ’26, from Summit, New Jersey, joins Varsity Field Hockey as a right forward this fall. Although Webb only started playing field hockey during her freshman year of high school, she quickly fell in love with the sport. “Being an attack is so fun for me, because I am a defender in lacrosse,” she said.
She looks to her friend Darcey Chapman, who plays at the University of Pennsylvania, as a huge inspiration. Webb said, “Darcey is so good and her work ethic is so strong; she inspires me to grow as a player.”
Outside of field hockey, Webb plans on swimming and playing lacrosse.
