Three academic departments have new chairs this year: Mrs. Kristy Doscher, Classical & Modern Languages; Ms. Beth Smithey, Science; and Ms. Bridget Dixon Moon, Mathematics and Computer Science. For the first time in the school’s history, the majority of department chairs are women.

Several other members of the faculty and staff are embracing new roles this year: Mr. Craig Naclerio will serve as the Lower Mid class dean; Mr. Seth Diters will do dorm duty in Garland in addition to his responsibilities in the gym; Mr. Joe Busacca will assist Mr. Dempsey Quinn as associate director of athlethics; Ms. Ashley Oluko and Mr. Pierre Yoo will serve as co-directors of pluralism and community; and Dr. John Hyland will replace Mrs. Doscher as the associate dean of academic life.

Ten new faculty and staff members have joined the community from boarding and day schools across the

country and the world, including Mexico, Argentina, and Peru.
