This year’s Super Bowl will feature the 15-2 Kansas City Chiefs and the 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs are led by superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, while the Eagles are led by powerhouse running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Heading into the game, the Chiefs are consensus 1.5 point favorites over the Eagles, and rightfully so.
The 2025 Super Bowl LIX champions will be the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite back-to-back championships, many people still doubt the Chiefs ability to go for a third. They have proved the doubters wrong, however, showing this season that they are still hungry and able to go for a historic third straight Super Bowl win.
The Philadelphia Eagles came into the season off a disappointing 32-7 loss in the Wild Card Round last year against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They made a splash in free agency, poaching Saquon Barkley from their division rival the New York Giants. Barkley was coming off several disappointing seasons plagued by injury and surrounded by mediocrity on the Giants, and the Eagles were happy to pounce, signing him to a three-year contract worth nearly $40 million.
Their gamble has payed off, as Barkley nearly broke the single season rushing record this year and propelled the Eagles to a 14-3 record and the second seed in the NFC.
Despite the explosive threat that Barkley poses, we still believe that the Chiefs have what it takes to win. The Chiefs are led by Head Coach Andy Reid, who has over 25 years of experience and an 18-7 playoff record with the team. Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has shown the ability to outwit the best of the best in the NFL over the last six years. The Chiefs’ coaching staff and players have an invaluable depth of Super Bowl experience that ensures that they won’t wilt under the pressure.
Lastly, the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes, who is well on his way to being one of the best, if not the best, players in NFL history. Mahomes could turn any team into a Super Bowl contender, and for as long as he is still on the Chiefs, you certainly won’t see us betting against him.
