A second large-scale bronze by local artist Joy Brown was installed on campus on Friday, November 14.
The statue, “Recliner with Head in Hands,” was placed on the Buehler quad lawn and lies facing Senior Grass and the Main Building.
The sculpture is an eight-foot-long figure lying on its stomach, with its hands propping up its head. At its base is a poem that reads: “Be still here / listen now / we are you and me together.”
A variety of Ms. Brown’s smaller-scale works will be featured in an exhibit that will open in the Tremaine Gallery on February 15.
