What are some of your ideas for the dynamic training program?
My vision for the dynamic training program is to meet student-athletes at their current developmental stage.
We’ll establish a foundation with our Preps’ program, then build upon it as students progress to Lower Mids and Upper Mids. The program for Seniors will be the most advanced, aiming to prepare them for the transition to college athletics.
What is your overall approach to athletic training and performance?
My athletic performance philosophy centers on four key areas: physical development, education, psychological preparation, and moral development.
Physical development involves preparing athletes for sport-specific challenges. The educational component focuses on teaching athletes and staff the rationale behind our methods, promoting better understanding and buy-in. Psychologically, we aim to instill in athletes the belief that they’re optimally prepared, fostering confidence both in sports and life. Moral development involves shaping outstanding individuals by encouraging attention to detail, hard work, and consistency, which prepares them for future success.
What are your main goals?
My primary goals are to maximize participation in the weight room and create a challenging yet enjoyable environment that the entire school community wants to be part of. Additionally, I aim to provide the highest quality support possible for all athletic teams.
I’m looking forward to working with Hotchkiss’s facilities and collaborating with the coaches, staff, and students in this community.
