Hard Work and Consistency Pays Off for Prasertsintanah

Mr. Jeff Hinz
Christa runs in the 4×400 Meter relay.

Christa Prasertsintanah ’23 is a four-year Senior from Thailand. She will join Track and Field at Amherst College next year. Teammate Tessie Connell ’25 said, Christa is an inspiration for all and a role model for new runners. She is always there in times of trouble to bring a ray of light to tough practices.”

When did you discover your passion for running?

I started running in seventh grade, but wasn’t serious about it. I had one or two weekly practices and three meets a season. Due to Covid interrupting my Prep year, it was in my Lower Mid year that I started to focus on track. I received my first college offer for track that year. This inspired me to train more.

What was one of your favorite moments with the team?

The 4×4 at the Hunt Relays at Deerfield. We were all so excited. We all ran ten seconds faster than our best time, which was terrific.

It was a great bonding experience, having to push ourselves beyond our limits while supporting each other. We also broke the meet record.

How do you think the season has gone?

My 200-Meter times have been great; however, I plan to improve my 400-Meter times.

We have only had a few competitions, which has limited my opportunities to improve my performance. Recently, I ran my first 800-meter race since middle school.

What advice would you give to aspiring track and field athletes?

Hard work pays off. Stick to it; everything is worth it in the end. If you’re consistent with your training, everything is possible. And don’t be too tough on yourself. One bad race doesn’t define you.
