Elfers Hall will welcome German musicians, pianist Andreas Frölich and cellist Alexander Hülshoff, in a duo concert on Saturday.
Both award-winning musicians, Mr. Frölich and Mr. Hülshoff have performed in famous concert venues in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. Mr. Frölich has won multiple international piano competitions, including in Senigallia, Milan, and Vienna. Mr. Hülshoff is currently professor at the Folkwang University of the Arts, and Mr. Frölich is a professor at the Cologne University of Music.
The duo will play pieces from the 19th century, including works by Claude Debussy, Franz Schubert, and Edvard Grieg. Mr. Fabio Witkowski, head of the visual and performing arts department, said, “This program will offer many amazing moments of exciting, passionate, and virtuosic music. I hope students will be inspired by these two amazing musicians – their technique, control, interactions, [and] passion – so that they leave the hall not only touched by the music, but also energized to challenge themselves in whatever talent they pursue.”
The concert will take place in Elfers Hall on May 4 at 7p.m. During their stay, Mr. Frölich and Mr. Hülshoff will also work with cello and piano students on campus.
