Dance Team, alongside Deerfield Academy and the Kent School, presented the second Interschool Dance Show in Walker Auditorium. The performance, organized by captains Ophelia Cham ’25 and Irene Zeng ’26, included a total of 16 dances alternating between the three teams.
Cham kickstarted the interschool dance tradition in her Lower Mid year by coordinating with the dance directors and faculty members from nearby schools. “Interacting with dancers from other areas helps build long lasting friendships,” Cham said. “It’s a way to continue to support one another in the dance community.”
The Hotchkiss Dance Team performed several dances from their previous winter showcase, Fae Tale, including “Her,” “Everybody Supports Women,” “La Femme,” and “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.” The team also added two new dances to their repertoire: “Woo x Circus,” choreographed by Jiyani Bharvad ’27, and “Hung Up,” choreographed and performed by all the dance captains of Hotchkiss, Kent, and Deerfield.
“Choreographing for the dance team has always been a goal of mine,” said Bharvad. “It was really cool watching my vision come to life and become a spectacular performance.”
Amy Hwang ’26, captain of the Kent Dance Team, said, “It was great meeting and dancing with other dancers outside Kent. We found that the energy resonated with our audience, fostering a supportive and healthy community across Kent, Hotchkiss, and Deerfield.”
